Barren River State Dock is at 1148 State Park Road, Lucas, KY 42156, inside Barren River Lake State Park. Enter the park and head to the marina, or tap the directions link on this page. Our phone number is 270-646-2357.
Glasgow is the county seat. Head southwest from town toward Lucas and the state park. Glasgow is the nearest larger town, so it is also a handy place to stop for groceries on a longer trip.
Drivers coming from Bowling Green head east toward Glasgow and then Lucas. On a summer weekend, give yourself a little extra time.
The marina is in Barren County KY. Lucas KY is the small community closest to the park. Barren River Dam, operated by the Corps of Engineers, holds back the lake. The Corps sets the water level through the year, lower in winter and higher in summer.
A quick call is the best way to check rental availability and today’s hours, especially on weekends and holidays. If you want to reserve a boat, the Book Now button on the boat rentals page takes you straight to online booking.
For a rental, have your date, the size of your group and the type of boat you want. For a slip, have your boat’s length and beam and whether you want space for the season or the year. For anything else, a short note through the form on this page works well.
The 2026 table below shows spring, summer, holiday and fall hours. From mid October to mid April the marina is closed for the season, store included. Federal holidays have their own longer hours. Weather can change plans at short notice.
The park has a lodge, cottages and a campground, all booked through Kentucky State Parks. Many guests combine a stay with a rental day on the water. If that is your plan, book the boat as soon as your dates are set.
If you are already on the lake, the marina is the State Dock inside the park. Any chart app, or a printed lake map, will show the approach to the State Dock. Slow down near the docks, watch for swimmers and paddlers, and call ahead if you are not sure where to tie up for fuel.
For slip questions, see a slip guide on our storage page before you call, so you know the sizes we offer.
The form on this page goes straight to the marina team. Use it for anything that needs detail, such as a slip request, a group rental with several boats, or a question about next season. Include a phone number so the team can call you back if that is quicker.
Planning a family reunion or a group outing with more than one boat? Mention the size of the group and the date in your message. The team can tell you which combination of tritoons, pontoons and kayaks suits the group, and how far ahead you should book.
During the winter months the marina and store are closed, but questions about next season’s slips and rentals are still welcome. Leave a message or send the form, and include your phone number. Planning early is the best way to secure a rental date or a slip for the summer ahead.
